Performance Training
Reach Your Athletic
Potential
Whether your sport is soccer, lacrosse, basketball, baseball,
hockey, figure skating, golf or any other, SPORT-Rx’s
certified sports performance specialists offer targeted
training designed to enhance athletic performance and prevent
injuries. We combine advanced training principles with innovations
from sports medicine and sport science to deliver superior
results in terms of athletic performance markers, including
absolute speed, acceleration, agility, explosive power and
strength. That’s why high school, NCAA, professional,
and Olympic athletes alike believe in SPORT-Rx’s proven
training approach.
At SPORT-Rx’s performance centers
in Hyannis and Pembroke, Mass., you may rub elbows with
some of the finest athletes in the world as school-age athletes
train in the same facility as the pros. We believe all of
our athletes benefit from exposure to a diverse cross-section
of competitors, from a 10-year-old nationally ranked alpine
Super G skier to a pro baseball player tuning up for spring
training.
We offer training
in several formats:
Small Group Training
Team Training
Individual Training
Specialized Golf and Tennis Programs
Small
Group Training
Train in small groups of 5-10 athletes who share your passion
for a particular sport. Our sport-specific groups allow
for the most sharply focused program design tailored to
the demands of both your sport and your position. We’ll
analyze your individual strengths and limiting factors and
integrate solutions into a comprehensive program appropriate
for all participants. Groups may elect to add sport psychology
coaching sessions and nutrition seminars to augment the
training experience. Most groups are ongoing and may be
joined with approval from the SPORT-Rx coach. If you prefer,
you can form your own group by bringing along at least four
teammates or friends who play your sport.

Team
Training
We can train your entire team to supplement your on-field
practice and support your coach. In designing these
training sessions, we address both the overall needs
of the group, as well as the unique needs of each individual
athlete to create a comprehensive program. We have found
these sessions to be highly motivational for the athletes
involved as each strives to reach new levels of performance
alongside teammates. Team training is available for
teams in all sports, from soccer to synchronized skating,
and at all levels, from youth clubs to adult leagues
to professional teams. |

Individual
Training
For the most dedicated attention to your individual needs
work one-on-one with a SPORT-Rx performance specialist. He
or she will identify your strengths and weaknesses, determine
how these impact your performance in your chosen sport, and
design a training program to address each issue systematically.
Student athletes and adults alike should expect to see significant
improvements in key measures of performance appropriate to
your sport, such as vertical jump, agility, first-step speed,
and local muscular endurance. For professional athletes, individual
training is the most targeted way to help new players hone
the performance attributes needed to stand out, and help veteran
players stay in the game a little longer.

Trainer’s
Tip
Athletes who hope to play intercollegiate sports
should begin the performance enhancement training
process as early as freshman year of high school in
order to be competitive upon graduation. Too often,
young athletes head to college ill-equipped to contend
with older teammates accustomed to the demands and
expectations of college-level athletics. SPORT-Rx
excels at preparing high school athletes for the challenges
ahead, both on the field and in the weight room –
helping ease the sometimes difficult high school-to-college
transition. |
Specialized Golf
and Tennis Programs
While our golf and tennis
training packages are targeted toward serious adult players,
athletes of all ages and levels can benefit from these intensive
training and learning opportunities.
